With so many players exploiting earlier game bugs or glitches, people are understandably frustrated by the official servers.
The official game doesn’t support singleplayer mode, but that’s no reason to miss out if that’s what you prefer. While ATLAS is designed as an MMO, a lot of players find they enjoy a smaller multiplayer game or even want to play singleplayer.
